You Abroad USA is currently seeking a Paralegal – U.S. Immigration Law to join our legal team in a full-time, 100% remote position based in Brazil.
The selected professional will support the preparation, organization, and management of U.S. immigration cases, working closely with our legal team and maintaining direct communication with clients in both Portuguese and English.
We are looking for a professional who demonstrates a high level of organization, attention to detail, accountability, autonomy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the preparation and organization of U.S. immigration cases
• Draft and review immigration-related documents and written materials
• Complete, review, and verify immigration forms
• Organize supporting documentation and evidence
• Review client information and identify missing documents, inconsistencies, and outstanding matters
• Communicate directly with clients in Portuguese and English
• Conduct follow-ups and monitor pending documentation and information
• Manage case deadlines and internal timelines
• Maintain case management systems accurately and consistently
• Support attorneys and other team members in more complex immigration matters
Qualifications
• Current residence in Brazil
• Full-time availability during working hours aligned with New York Eastern Time
• Advanced or professional-level English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese
• Previous experience working directly with clients
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple cases, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously
• Proactive, responsible, and self-directed professional profile
• Ability to follow established procedures, instructions, and internal standards with accuracy
Preference will be given to candidates with a Law degree in Brazil, active OAB registration, previous experience in a legal environment, and/or experience with U.S. Immigration Law.
Previous experience in U.S. immigration is considered an advantage but is not required. We particularly value candidates with a strong legal foundation, excellent English skills, the ability to learn quickly, and a genuine interest in developing specialized knowledge in U.S. Immigration Law.
